Come and join us! We have no waiting list! The membership fee is £40 per annum per person payable by 1st September. The subscription is £20 for members joining after January. There is no charge for lectures but visits, extras, study days and tours are charged separately. Guests are welcome to attend up to 3 lectures per year for an entrance fee of £5 per lecture provided there is space.

If you would like to join us you can download and complete the Application Form and send it to the Membership Secretary.  By joining the Society you also join The Arts Society which is a charity. 

When you join, new members decide whether they plan to attend the afternoon or evening sessions. This is for logistical purposes because there is limited seating in the lecture hall.  Occasional changes of session are permitted.

Below we give details of our Policy relating to the General Data Protection Regulations which apply when you become a member. 

General Data Protection Regulations

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has come into operation. Although the changes are aimed more at commercial organisation and fundraising charities, the legislation applies to us.

GDPR is a complex area but is not designed to adversely affect our relationship with our members.

  • As a member of our society we hold your email address, name, address and telephone number.
  • Members’ details are processed fairly and lawfully in order to satisfy the agreement entered with you on your admittance to membership. This ensures that you receive the latest news and information about upcoming events, and can participate in the talks, study days visits tours and other activities that The Arts Society Limpsfield organises.  
  • Members’ details are passed to “The Arts Society” to enable inclusion on a database of members which helps us run the The Arts Society Limpsfield, and allows the mailing of the quarterly magazine and other communications by The Arts Society.
  • Members’ details may be passed to “The Arts Society East Surrey Area”, or other affiliated societies for the purposes of disseminating relevant information of legitimate interest. 
  • Your details will be kept safely and securely and you have the ability to opt out of our communications at any time.

In addition:

  • We consider how long we need to keep information (by law financial information needs to be kept 6 years). 
  • We remind you on membership renewal how we process your information.
  • Leaving members can ask to be forgotten.  We will then remove all your details from our records and those of The Arts Society subject to any overriding legal requirement to keep details. 

We keep members informed of news and events by email in a monthly email. If you wish to unsubscribe from this service there is an unsubscribe box on the newsletter. We would however prefer that you contact the membership secretary to ensure all our records are correct.
